Student Reflections on the Project Experience and Learning

What does global collaboration mean to you?

Collaboration is working together to achieve a goal, so it would be global, meaning the whole world. It's where people from a rural area collaborating with people that are from smaller towns. We learn how they live, while they learn how we live. How we live and survive compared to people that don’t the same things we do.

Give one example of how you might collaborate globally in your post secondary education or career.

With the internet growing the way it is, being able to talk to people from all over the world about career tips, or a pen pal that lives in a foreign country or have a foreign exchange student that you talk to on online chat and skype.

What does “We Are All Treaty People” mean?

"We are all Treaty People" means that the treaties effect all of us and we should all be educated on them. It involves everyone in Manitoba and we all have rights and responsibilities with them.

Identify one important aspect of this project--what did you learn?

We learned that it is quite possible connecting with people from all over the world and being able to collaborate easily with them over the Internet. We also learned that there are countless ways of presenting information, through Prezis, Photostories, Vimeos, Photosynths, Glogs, and much more.

Identify one aspect that you would change in the project to improve your learning.

Some of the ways that the project could be improved is that the classes could work together more, instead of simply sharing pictures and videos. Possibly getting a video chat like a Skype would be an awesome way to meet each other.
